ACCOUNT / SUBSCRIPTION

Account & Subscription

Make sure you're signed in to your existing account before moving devices, setting up a client, or updating your subscription.

Do I need an email address to get started?

No email address is required. Create an account with a username and password. After signing in to the user dashboard, save your credentials securely and check your plan and subscription details in the account overview. The client connection configuration and dashboard login credentials serve different purposes and cannot replace one another. Before switching browsers or devices, make sure you can still sign in with your existing credentials. Never include your password or full subscription link in public screenshots or share them with configuration tools from unknown sources.

Do I need to choose a new plan when I switch devices?

There is no limit on the number of devices that can be connected at the same time, so switching devices alone does not require choosing a new plan. U8VPN supports Windows / macOS / iOS / Android / Linux. Sign in to your existing account on the new device, open the client downloads section, and follow the guide to import your subscription. After importing it, check your plan status and data allowance before selecting a route. The number of connected devices and the available data are separate things, so keep an eye on your account's data usage when using multiple devices.

How do I update my subscription link, and when should I import it again?

Sign in to the user dashboard and make sure your plan is active, then update the subscription in your current client's subscription settings. If the update fails, check that the saved address in the client matches the one currently shown in the dashboard, with no extra spaces or missing characters. Re-import only if the address has changed, the configuration is corrupted, or the client explicitly asks you to. Save any custom rules first so they can be restored if needed. Do not post your subscription link in public forums.

Where can I get the client, and how is downloading it different from getting a subscription?

Download clients from the user dashboard; sign in to get your subscription as well. Clients for Windows / macOS / Android / Linux are available after signing in. Access to the iOS download is determined by the active plan status shown in the dashboard. Downloading a client only gives you the connection app; it does not import your account configuration or connect you. After installation, follow the guide to get your subscription, import the configuration, and grant the required system network permissions. Then check the selected route and test access—installation alone does not mean you're connected.

The route list is empty after importing a subscription. What should I check?

First, check your plan status and available data in the dashboard. Then make sure the client has selected the subscription you just imported, not a blank configuration or one from an old account. Try updating the subscription manually and note any error message. Record whether the update failed or succeeded but returned no routes. If the issue persists, open a support ticket with your platform, the steps you took in the client, and the error message. Hide your subscription link and account credentials in screenshots. There is no need to keep importing the same subscription.

CONNECTION / DIAGNOSIS

Connections & Troubleshooting

Keep the error message and change one setting at a time to help identify the cause.

The client says I'm connected, but websites still won't load. What should I do?

A connected status usually means only that the client has established a connection; it does not confirm that all traffic is working. Disconnect and check that your local network can access the internet, then reconnect and test both the affected website and other sites. Confirm that the selected subscription, route, and proxy mode are correct, and check whether another proxy or VPN configuration is active at the same time. If only one service fails, note its error message and check its app or region rules. If access fails across the board, check system permissions, DNS settings, and the client's error log.

Why does my browser work through the proxy but a particular app doesn't?

Browsers and apps may use different network routes. Check whether rule-based routing is enabled in the client and whether the app is set to connect directly. Some apps do not follow the system proxy and may require the client's tunnel mode or per-app settings. Save your current configuration before making changes. Afterward, fully close and reopen the app, and check whether it has its own proxy settings. If the app opens but sign-in, images, or video fail, note exactly where the failure occurs rather than judging the whole connection by whether the home screen loads.

How do I troubleshoot Android disconnects after the screen locks?

First check whether the disconnects happen only after the screen locks or the app moves to the background. If the connection works normally in the foreground, check the system's battery optimization, background activity, and auto-start restrictions for the client. Allow the background activity required by your device's settings. Menu names vary by device, so follow the options shown on your system. After making changes, check the connection both after locking the screen and when returning to the app. If it also disconnects in the foreground, check local network changes, subscription status, and routes instead of only changing battery settings.

What should I do if the system asks for permission when I connect?

The client may need permission to add a network configuration or establish a VPN connection. Make sure the prompt comes from the client you just opened and matches the steps in the dashboard guide, then grant the required permission through the system prompt. If you previously denied it, check the relevant option in your system's network or app settings. Never enter your account password on an unfamiliar page to resolve a permission prompt. Once permission is granted, return to the client and reconnect. If the prompt keeps appearing, save its exact wording and your system platform details, then open a support ticket.

What information should I include in a support ticket about connection problems?

Open a ticket from the user dashboard. Include your platform, whether the issue occurred during import or after connecting, the selected region and route type, and the exact message shown by the affected service. Also note whether your local network works, whether changing routes made a difference, and whether the issue relates to background activity or network switching. This helps narrow down the cause. Keep screenshots to the necessary screens and hide your username, password, full subscription link, and other account details. Do not send login credentials for the destination website or post payment details publicly.

ROUTES / SERVICE ACCESS

Speed & Routes

First choose a region that meets the destination service's requirements, then compare connection performance under the same conditions.

Video buffers during peak hours. Should I switch routes or change settings first?

First narrow down whether the issue is with the service, route, or local network. Keep the video and quality settings unchanged, then try other routes in the same region and see if performance improves. Compare routes in other regions afterward, and pause background downloads or other network-heavy tasks. If your local network is unstable even when disconnected, troubleshoot that first. Avoid changing proxy mode, DNS, and app settings all at once, or it will be hard to tell what helped. Peak-hour performance depends on the network path and destination service; a route type is not a speed guarantee.

How should I choose between IEPL, relay, and direct routes?

These labels describe connection paths; they do not guarantee how a route will perform on every network. First choose a region that meets the destination service's requirements, then compare IEPL, relay, and direct routes under the same conditions. If a route does not suit your local network, try another path type and test again. The locations page explains route types and regions, while the client shows the options currently available to you. Do not assume a route type is always best for every app based only on its name, distance, or one test.

Which regions does U8VPN cover, and are closer routes always faster?

U8VPN covers 90+ countries / 220+ routes. The routes currently available to you are listed in your client subscription. Geographic distance is only one factor affecting a connection; your local carrier's routing, route type, and the destination service's region also matter. Choose a region based on the service you want to access, then compare performance on your current network. If a service requires a specific region, don't choose a route based on distance alone. The location examples on the nodes page can help explain how to choose, but they do not replace the current route list in your client.

ChatGPT loads, but I can't sign in. Is it a route issue?

A page loading does not mean all sign-in requirements have been met. Note the full message from the service, confirm that your selected region is currently supported, then check for an old browser session, extensions that may affect sign-in, or account verification and usage restrictions. Keep the region consistent while troubleshooting, and avoid switching exit locations repeatedly during sign-in. U8VPN provides network connection routes; account eligibility, regional policies, and sign-in decisions for third-party services are determined by those services.

A streaming service loads but says content is unavailable. What should I do?

First determine whether the entire service is inaccessible or only a specific title or playback step is unavailable. The service's catalog, account region, membership status, and exit region can each affect what you can watch. Loading the home page does not mean all titles will play. Keep the target region consistent, reopen the app or refresh the session in a way the service allows, and check whether other content works. If you need to switch routes, compare routes in the same region first and save the exact error message. A successful route connection does not guarantee access to a third party's content catalog.

BILLING / REFUNDS

Billing & Refunds

Know the difference between monthly plans and data packs, and check the details shown in your dashboard before changing plans.

How much do monthly plans cost, and when does data reset?

Monthly plans: ¥9.9/month for 60GB · ¥18/month for 250GB · ¥28/month for 500GB. Data resets monthly on the date your plan began, not automatically at the start of each calendar month. Before choosing a plan, compare your usual usage and data needs, then check the details on the plans page. After activating a plan, view your current plan, usage, and status in the user dashboard. If the client and dashboard show different information, update the subscription and check that you're signed in to the right account. Don't rely on a local cache to decide whether you need a different plan.

What's the difference between a data pack and a monthly plan?

Data packs: ¥158/300GB · ¥358/1000GB · ¥658/3000GB. Data is available until used and never expires. Monthly plan data resets each month on the date the plan began, so the two options suit different usage patterns. If your usage varies, compare the data pack pricing. For regular use, consider a monthly plan based on your typical data consumption. Data packs do not renew with the same allowance every month. Don't assume different plans can be combined; check the current rules in the dashboard before switching or combining plans.

How is the price difference handled when I upgrade a monthly plan partway through?

The price difference for a mid-cycle upgrade is converted into remaining days. Before proceeding, check your current plan, the plan you want, and the change details shown on the confirmation page in the user dashboard. Continue only if the result suits your needs. Do not estimate the final change by subtracting full-month prices, or assume an upgrade will change the reset date or remaining data in a particular way. If the confirmation details differ from what you expected, save the information shown and ask through a support ticket rather than repeating the operation to test it.

Which payment methods are supported, and what if my plan status doesn't update after payment?

Alipay / WeChat Pay / USDT are supported. Start payment through the order flow in the user dashboard and check the details shown for your current order. If your plan status has not updated after payment, return to your orders and account overview to check the result. Make sure the payment was for the current account and order, and don't pay again just because the client hasn't refreshed. If the issue persists, submit the order details, payment method, and page status through a support ticket. Share transaction details only to the extent needed to resolve the issue.

How do I request a refund, and what information do I need to provide?

U8VPN offers 7-day refunds, no reason required. To request one, sign in to the user dashboard and open a support ticket describing your request. Include the relevant order details so the transaction can be identified. See the Terms of Service for full details. You do not need to describe a connection issue as the reason for your request, and should never share account credentials publicly. Check the ticket for replies and provide any necessary information requested. Refund status and processing are subject to the actual response; do not estimate arrival times based on experience with other payment methods.
